About
I am a clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience. I have had the privilege of working with a wide array of issues across different settings within the public sector, from youth and adult community mental health to hospitals . Over the years, I have transitioned to private practice, where I have supported clients dealing with everything from depression and anxiety to relationship challenges, stress, and chronic illness. In private practice work more recently, I have focussed on supporting clients with perinatal difficulties as well as those with trauma-related concerns.
I received my undergraduate and postgraduate psychology training from the University of Melbourne. I utilise a range of approaches depending on the presenting difficulties. These may include cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), compassion-focused therapy and psychodynamic approaches.
When working with issues relating to trauma, I utilise EMDR or cognitive processing therapy (CPT).
I am also a registered Circle of Security facilitator. I often draw on attachment theory to understand and support my clients better and to gain insight into how their past and present relationships come to bear on their current concerns.
I believe in creating a warm, compassionate space for my clients. I understand that stepping into therapy can feel a bit intimidating, so I am dedicated to making you feel heard and safe to share your struggles. My goal is to create an environment where you feel supported, so we can work together to navigate through whatever you are facing.
My expertise
I am really passionate about helping clients navigate through the ups and downs of parenthood, especially when it comes to perinatal issues like adjusting to parenting, dealing with pregnancy loss, or coping with traumatic birth experiences. I also have significant experience supporting those with trauma-related issues, especially relational trauma. Beyond these areas of interest, I enjoy working with a range of presenting difficulties.
