Fees
Fees are $220 per 50 minute session.
If you have a mental health care plan from your GP, you are entitled to a rebate of $141.85 per session (leaving an out of pocket cost per session of $78.15). You are eligible for up to 10 sessions rebated per calendar year. You would need to visit your GP prior to your initial session to obtain a mental health care plan.
Payment is required on the day of the session.
Clients are welcome to attend without a mental health care plan, but there is no rebate for these sessions.
I also see clients under TAC, Workcover and private health insurance funding.
What does therapy involve?
Therapy may look different for different people. There is no one-size fits all therapy approach.
At our initial session, we will discuss what has brought you to therapy. This may include discussion about current difficulties as well as earlier experiences and challenges and your goals for the sessions.
An important part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship so it is important that you feel that my approach and style is a good fit, though it can also take some time to feel more comfortable and to feel a sense of trust to open up about your concerns.
For some people, therapy might involve a few sessions to address a relatively straightforward problem in their life, for many others it can take some time to change patterns and ways of coping that have been present for some time. We will discuss this in our sessions.
Ongoing feedback and communication through the sessions is an important part of therapy and I will check in with you about how we are working together on a regular basis.
